Half day excursion by boat to the silk island, Koh Dach

You sail across the Mekong River to the charming island of Koh Dach, also known as Silk Island. In the typical Khmer village, the houses stand on long stilts and have small silk shops in the outdoor space under the house.  You meet the locals and learn about how the precious silk is transformed into craftsmanship through processing, dyeing and hand weaving – the livelihood of most families. You see how the silk thread is spun on homemade tools and you have the opportunity to have a go if you wish, and you can buy some of the lovely silk. During the walk through the village, you can stop for a chat with the locals before enjoying a picnic packed lunch. The tour ends with a visit to a Buddhist temple before returning to Phnom Penh.

Your guide picks you up from the hotel and brings you back again. Lunch is included.
