Puri Lumbung Cottages

Puri Lumbung Cottages is an eco-friendly hotel built using natural materials and in harmony with the wonderful surroundings. Set in the midst of the fresh mountain air in Munduk’s highlands, the hotel affords a stunning view of the lush landscape with its light green rice fields, plantations, jungle and green-clad mountain tops.

You will stay in charming bungalows known as “lumbung”, which were originally old rice stores. All of the bungalows are decorated in traditional style, with fine, detailed wood carvings. They all have a bedroom with a mosquito net over the bed, a bathroom with either a shower or a bath, and a lovely balcony with breathtaking views of the mountains and rice fields. There is free Wi-Fi, but no air conditioning – it’s not necessary in the temperate highlands.

All the staff are locals, and the hotel goes to great lengths to preserve the Balinese culture and its ancient traditions and customs. A whole host of activities and entertainment are therefore offered in the form of cookery classes, yoga, meditation as well as Balinese music and dance.

When hunger strikes, you can enjoy local, Western and vegetarian dishes at Restaurant Kopi Bali, while the hotel bar serves cold drinks as the sun sets so beautifully in the sky.
