Bandos Island Resort & Spa is a lovely family-friendly resort located on the island of Bandos in North Atoll, a mere 15-minute boat ride from Malé airport.

When you arrive at the island, the staff will be waiting to give you a warm welcome.

The island itself is incredibly lush and green and it is almost round like a ball. The paradise beaches are white and the water is clear. If you walk out a few metres from the shore, a fantastic underwater world opens up to you with corals and beautiful tropical fish.

The stay is based on a deluxe room, sleeping up to 2 adults and 2 children. The rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, mini bar, TV, telephone, safe and tea and coffee making facilities. In addition, there is also a bottle of water provided daily in your room. In the bathroom, you will find free toiletries and a hair dryer. From the terrace, you can enjoy the view of the beach and the green surroundings.

Everywhere on the island, there are great activities for young and old alike. There is a children’s playground and Kokko’s Kids Club for children aged 3–12. There is also a tennis court and football pitch, and in the resort’s clubhouse, you can play volleyball, table tennis, various board games and work out.

And the activities for all the family don’t stop at the shoreline. You can go kayaking, catamaraning, jet skiing and paddle boarding or ride on a banana boat.

If you are fascinated by life under the water, be sure to take full advantage of the fact that you are in the snorkeller’s and diver’s paradise. It goes without saying that you can rent snorkels, masks and flippers, and go on an excursion out into the deep water with the resort’s award-winning diving centre, which is one of the oldest in the Maldives.

In addition to a wide range of activities, the resort also organises various excursions, including island hopping or a trip to Malé. You can also swim with whale sharks or go on a beautiful sunset trip, where you can see wild dolphins.

When you need to relax, you can just lie back on a sun lounger on the white sandy beach and enjoy the stunning views of the turquoise lagoons, or build sand castles in the light breeze. There is also a freshwater pool with a poolside bar and a children’s pool.

And why not take the whole family to the resort’s day spa, and have your hair and nails done, or a massage, etc.?

When hunger and thirst strike, Bandos has plenty to offer. The main restaurant, The Gallery, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here, you will find a wide range of delicious local and international dishes. At Koon Thai, you can enjoy authentic Thai dishes, and Umi Yaki serves barbecue dishes in the open air. The Sea Breeze Café is built on poles in the water and has a lovely outdoor deck where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the lagoon while relaxing in the light breeze with a bowl of spaghetti, an Indian curry or perhaps a burger or a pizza. Huvan is the best place to enjoy the Maldivian sunset while having a bite to eat. Sand Bar is a classic island beach bar and the ideal place to enjoy the tropical atmosphere. It has karaoke, live music and a disco.

Bandos also has a nice little shop where you can buy sun cream, souvenirs, clothes, bags, etc.
