From October to April, many whales are to be found in the waters off the south coast of Sri Lanka. Up to 26 different whale species are believed to visit the area, including sperm whales and the world’s largest whale, the blue whale, which can grow up to 30 metres long.
The tour sets out from Mirissa early in the morning, and your captain and able crew will help you spot the impressive animals. You can also experience the playful dolphins in the sea.
You will be given a packed breakfast on board the boat, which you can enjoy along the way.
Duration: approx. 4 hours
NB: Depending on the weather, it may be necessary to take sea sickness medicine if you don’t have good sea legs. You are at sea for around 2–3 hours.
